This week’s question: With Thanksgiving approaching, what are you thankful for these days?
For the gift of life, I’m especially grateful to a lung donor and his family, to great doctors at Duke University Hospital, to Carol the best caregiver, to supportive family and friends worldwide and to God. Nine years with a lung transplant, after prognosis of one year to live.
James City County
I am thankful for many many things. Family, health, good friends. The list of blessings is very long.
I am always thankful for my family, especially Alex, and also for friends and colleagues. I am particularly thankful that the elections are over and I don’t have to watch or listen to those political ads; every time they get worse and more negative.
My wife and best friend Trudy, and over 54 years of Thanksgiving “turkey” family dinners!
I am thankful for family, friends, good health, keen mind, and quiet spiritual gifts that I try to share with others everyday.
I am especially thankful for family. Over my many years in the Air Force, the deployments, extended separations, and moves my family has always been supportive of both my service and myself. It is family that makes everything worth while.
Talbot N. Vivian
I am thankful for my village who loves me through the good and bad times!
Country, wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends near and far, fellow veterans, pets and the good life God has enabled us to have in “our” one and only USA!
Herb De Groft
I am thankful for family, friends, and colleagues, for my good health, and for living in a relatively free country.
I’m thankful to be alive at my time in life. So many of my friends aren’t around anymore. Maybe I did something right.
I am thankful for my fellow Virginians who participated in the recent elections, and for our public servants who showed the rest of the nation how to run a fair process that earns the confidence of the electorate.
I’m very thankful for my health and also the health of my wife and daughter. So many others are not as fortunate.
My health and the health of my family.
Newport Beach, Calif..
I am thankful that Hillary Clinton is only president of the popular vote, and that Donald Trump is President of the United States. Only the latter matters.
Thankful that all our allies are onto Cadet Donny Boy Bone Spurs.
