Bear Aware Day isn’t the only education event the zoo has held this summer.
Bear Aware Day is the last of a series of events that the zoo runs twice a month over the entire summer.
One example was an event last month focused on carnivores, called Carnivore Craze.
They do still have a few events coming up, and most of them focus on more local species.
Sunny Katseanes, Education Curator for the Idaho Falls Zoo, said “Kind of a new crazy idea that we got… We are going to do bat night at the zoo… And so this is a chance to come to the zoo at night time and see our local bats hopefully utilize the natural environment of the zoo”
They have an upcoming community appreciation day, and have been focusing on the conservation of local animals like St. Anthony sand dune beetles and bats.
