Saluki football fans can watch all 11 of SIU’s games on television this season … if they are willing to shell out a little money.
Seven of SIU’s games will be televised on ESPN+. The service can be purchased for $5 per month or $50 per year. All eight of SIU’s Missouri Valley Football Conference games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks.
The Saluki season begins with a 6 p.m. game at Murray State on Aug. 30. That game will be available on the OVC Digital Network. The second game of the season is a 3 p.m. kickoff at Ole Miss. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
SIU hosts SEMO in its home opener, and final non-conference game Sept. 15. ESPN+ provides the coverage.
Two MVFC games, at Illinois State Oct. 13 and Western Illinois at home Nov. 3, will be telecast on the MVFC Network/ESPN3. The remaining six games – at home vs. South Dakota, at Youngstown State, at home vs. Indiana State, at Missouri State, at home vs. South Dakota State and at North Dakota State — will be shown on ESPN+.
“We are very satisfied with the coverage that we’ve gotten with our agreement with ESPN,” said MVFC commissioner Patty Viverito. “The exposure that’s given us and the national respect that it’s given us is really important.”
Most of the events will be produced and transmitted by production united on each of the league’s campuses or by regional sports networks, while the league’s eight-game package will be produced and distributed by Tupelo Raycom, the conference’s digital production agency.
